My Integrative Approach

Holistic

Focuses on the relationship between mind, body, energy, and spirit, attempting to understand and address the ways issues in one aspect of a person can lead to concerns in other areas.

Person Centered

Focuses on the inherent potential of each person and focuses on creating an empathic, positive relationship with each client. Often, clients take the lead in sessions and the therapist offers support, guidance, and structure for self-understanding.

Psychodynamic

Recognizes recurring patterns to help people see how they avoid distress or develop defense mechanisms to cope. This insight may allow them to begin changing those patterns. This approach aims to address the foundation and formation of psychological processes.

Energy Psychology

Believes the body’s mental health and physical health conditions are related to altered energy flow and function in the body’s energy fields. Techniques such as Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping) are used to reduce hyperarousal and remove energetic blockages.

Cognitive-Behavioral

Helps determine the relationship between beliefs, thoughts, and feelings, and the behaviors that follow.

Mindfulness

Brings one’s active attention to internal and external processes and experiences. It also teaches the client to observe and accept instead of judge or avoid streams of thought.
